The book quotes Marx and Engels' comments on "What is Communism/Socialism?" with accompanying sources.
Engels in his later years said, "There is no ultimate goal (in socialism/communism). We are evolutionists. We have no intention of dictating ultimate rules to humanity. We are satisfied with simply giving society the means of production."(Le Figaro)

Fuwa quotes the words of the young Marx and Engels from their books. (The title of the book is omitted here)

Marx and Engels: "Communism is not a specific ideal. Communism is a real movement to abolish the current state of affairs. The conditions of this movement arise from existing premises."

"Communism is not a doctrine, but a movement. It starts from facts, not principles."

"In contrast to bourgeois society, which is divided into classes and in conflict with each other, communism is a united society in which the free development of each individual is the condition. It is a more advanced form of society."

They refused to impose an ideal vision of a future society on people.
First, they said that human freedom and liberation can only be achieved by returning the means of production to the people.

If there is no freedom in a country that calls itself socialist, then it is not socialism.
Also, if there are politicians, economic executives, or critics who preach that "there is no freedom in socialism and communism," it is clear that their perception is wrong.

This book also introduces how Marx and Engels repeatedly called for universal suffrage as the first step towards democratization. Their calls for universal suffrage and the reduction of working hours are published in their books and papers, and have been introduced in this blog in the past.

We can add that both Marx and Engels hated the cult of the individual. Therefore, the act of erecting a bronze statue and having people worship it is something that has absolutely nothing to do with Marx and Engels.

In recent years, there has been a worldwide phenomenon in which people blindly accept unscientific information on the Internet. Please note that both Marx and Engels said, "Everything starts from facts," and made their own claims only after reading through and analyzing a vast amount of history and previous research.

Record of the 2010 Request Action to the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association and the Major Commercial Broadcasting Stations, Part 2

November 9, 2010, 15:00-, In the conference room next to the announcement department (Request time: about 1 hour)

Several labor unions from film, theater, animation, etc. participated.
An assistant director of period dramas from Kyoto also participated. He appealed to the TV stations for the continuation of period dramas, saying, "If period dramas disappear, traditional professional skills will be lost."
The Stage Art Workers' Union appealed that recently, work has decreased and the unit price of orders has been reduced, so they have to reuse materials.
Eien-kyotou said, "Currently, the Japan Arts Council is petitioning to increase the national cultural budget. The American film industry is also at rock bottom right now, and its cultural budget of 145 billion yen is one of the lowest in the world."

Below is only Harada's remarks.

Hiroshi Harada:
*Currently, a campaign for the new live-action version of "Space Battleship Yamato" is underway inside and outside the TBS building. Last year (2009), two veteran animators who supported "Space Battleship Yamato" (the original TV and movie anime series) passed away. One of them, who had been the animation director since the first Yamato film, worked while coughing up blood in his later years, and before he knew it, he had terminal cancer. (*This is about Koizumi, Harada's master).
His last words to me were, "I had a deadline for work, so I couldn't go to the hospital even when I wasn't feeling well. But if you feel a little unwell, I want you to go to the hospital right away."
The current "Space Battleship Yamato" is built on that history. I want you to know that first.
TV Asahi's "Stitch" series (Stitch! The Adventures of a Mischievous Alien / Stitch! Always the Best Friend / Production: Walt Disney Television International Japan: Walt Disney Company Ltd) removed the subtitles of the staff and cast in the terrestrial analog broadcast. I want TBS to be careful not to do that.
Animators should be paid at least 200 yen per drawing. They should be guaranteed enough to pay the national health insurance premiums. The contents of the employment contract at the time of recruitment should be made clearer.

TBS's response:
I think that anime and period dramas are very special genres. Unfortunately, the station does not currently directly request the production of anime and period drama programs.
It is true that there have been some cost cuts in program production costs, but we are careful not to make large cuts in production costs. However, there is also the issue of maintaining the management of our television station.
In the past, there were several producers for one program.
Nowadays, one producer manages one program.
As a result, we have started to think about the balance of each part. If the economy improves, we can make programs that are worth watching. I hope for a good economic cycle.
(*This idea that everything will improve if the economy improves is the same as the LDP government's PR content. However, if the Japanese people place too much reliance on the economy, there is a risk that the atmosphere of support for war that was felt in the Japanese people during the Korean War, when they welcomed the economic boom, will be reborn.)

Military taxes are set to increase from 2026 to 2027.
In Japan, the law to participate in war has already been passed. Preparations to attack enemy countries are also accelerating.
War and military intoxication and discrimination against foreigners are rampant in Japan.
It's exactly the same as it was before the war. We need to raise our voices in opposition while we can.

Animation Hiroshi Harada (15 years old)

animate is the act of giving movement to inanimate objects such as trees and stones, and breathing life into them as living things.

Let's say there is a picture of an apple here.

When animate that apple, the feelings and expressions of the apple are expressed by the animator becoming the feelings of the apple.

If the feelings towards the apple are richer and warmer, the animation will be more lively.

I want to keep that feeling forever.

*****

Harada still has a book of Disney's autobiography that he borrowed from the junior high school library when he was a junior high school student.
Strangely, the teacher in charge of the library never said a word to Harada to return the book.
At that time, Harada was already known at school for making 8mm animations.
It has been about 50 years, but Harada has still not returned the book.

Nakajima, a high school teacher, created an archive of the voices of all the students in his class, rather than a collection of essays. He had his students record their opinions on cassette tapes and created a collection of their voices.
At the time, Harada, who was 17 years old, recorded himself saying, "Currently, the only parties fighting honestly in the Diet are the Communist Party and the Socialist Party," and played it for the whole class.
But Nakajima was a New Leftist who disliked the established left-wing parties.
Nakajima made no particular comment, so it is unclear how he took this.
The tape must be stored somewhere in the warehouse.

Zashikiro, and Boo

"Zashikiro" is almost complete, except for the two multi-screen sections. Currently, Kiryukan is working on the final edits and checks, while also starting production on a new film, "BOO."
Through the story of a boy with a rare, incurable disease, the film asks children how they should live in a nation and society that is leaning towards dictatorship, the far right, capitalism, neoliberalism, war, genocide, discrimination and unscience.

In the original story, there was a scene where BOO and Kazumi have sex, but in the flow of the script and storyboard, it was changed so that they do not end up being physically united. Harada said, "Platonic relationships are the most sensual."

In addition, in order to shorten the screening time, a dream scene in which a monster destroys the National Diet Building was also deleted.

One of Harada's favorite scenes in "Zahikiro" is when the main characters go to the bathroom. Harada has a chronic illness that causes him to urinate frequently and has to go to the bathroom often. The reason he takes breaks in his feature-length films is to be considerate of people with the same illness or symptoms.

In movies and dramas, there are often scenes where people are confined for days, and Harada always wonders, "What do they do with the bathroom?"

Hayao Miyazaki said, "(In response to a fan pointing out that the women Miyazaki depicts don't even go to the bathroom) So you guys want to see women go to the bathroom!?" but Harada insists that he wants to portray a woman as a human being who goes to the bathroom.
