Humans May Be the Product of Chance
A new analytical method has proven for the first time that the chemical composition of the early Earth was complete within 3 million years of the formation of the solar system, demonstrating for the first time that life could not have emerged before then.
The gas and dust of the solar system's planets were rich in volatile elements essential for life, such as hydrogen, carbon, and sulfur.
This result supports the hypothesis that volatile elements were transported to Earth from space by celestial impacts.
The chemicals necessary for life were quickly assembled within the 3 million years of the solar system's formation. However, this was merely the result of chance.
The gas and dust of the solar system's planets were rich in volatile elements essential for life, such as hydrogen, carbon, and sulfur.
However, these elements were not present on Mercury, Venus, Earth (formerly a rocky planet), or Mars, which are located near the Sun. They were in a gaseous state and did not condense at the high temperatures of the Sun. They existed in the cooler regions farther from the Sun.
This result supports the hypothesis that volatile elements were transported to Earth from space by celestial impacts.
The solar system formed approximately 4.568 billion years ago.
The chemicals necessary for life were quickly assembled within the 3 million years of the solar system's formation. However, this was merely the result of chance.
The fact that we humans currently live on Earth is not inevitable, but merely a coincidence.
