Due to global warming and rising sea levels, the small nation of Tuvalu (located halfway between Australia and Hawaii, population 11,000) is on the verge of disappearing from the map by 2050. As a result, the entire nation is preparing to emigrate. A new treaty allows people to apply for permanent Australian visas, and approximately 82% of the population has currently applied to emigrate.
