A long time ago in Japan, there was a cash robbery known as the 300 million yen robbery. In the end, the culprit was never caught.In this film, the scene of the crime was filmed on 16mm film.The harsh noise creates a sense of tension.

The guerrilla filming in subway stations and inside subway cars was done on 16mm.The grainy, rough image quality gives the viewer a realistic sense of being voyeuristic about the events.
In these works, just like the previously introduced films "Hunger Straits," "Battles Without Honor and Humanity," and "Taxi Driver," the sudden switch between 35mm and 16mm film creates an effect, shifting the viewer's perception.

Some parts of this film were shot using 8mm video.The old-fashioned video noise creates an eerie atmosphere.


In this way, the texture of a film is devised in various ways by the director and cinematographer.Furthermore, the image quality of each film is imprinted with the production environment and technical environment at the time of production.Therefore, it is not permitted for a company to arbitrarily and excessively redigitally remaster a film and standardize it to have a uniform image quality; this would be a violation of the moral right of the copyright holder.


Furthermore, it is absolutely unacceptable for a company to arbitrarily change the aspect ratio of a movie and broadcast it on television.

Large companies must not forget that movie cameramen carefully lay out the footage within the aspect ratio they are initially given.
