When Midori returns home, a bell rings when she opens the front door.
In Japan at that time, old houses actually had bells attached to their front doors. The bell sound wasn't originally part of Harada's plans.
It was soundman Koichi Asanuma who suggested adding the bell.
He was in charge of sound recording for left-wing documentary films at Ogawa Productions.
Before television was introduced in Japan, he worked on radio dramas.
In the scene where Wonder Masamitsu uses his magic, a strange "Hoooooooh" sound is heard.
This is also from an old sound source by Mr. Asanuma.Mainly since 2000, Japanese films have started to use Hollywood sound effects easily.
If digital sound sources had been used, these old, simple sounds would not have been able to be expressed.
In 2006, Harada asked the soundman in advance to use old sound effects on the TV series "BEM," but in reality, Hollywood digital sound sources were used, and the creepiness of the monsters was halved.
While working on commercial animation for a company, Harada dreamed of producing his own work and controlling all of the expression himself.
