”Film Scenario Theory”
”Film Scenario Theory” (Eisenstein et al./1957. New edition:1968/Rironsha)
A collection of essays by Soviet film-related people commemorating the 30th anniversary of the film "Potemkin".
Eisenstein recalls that his films were praised by Lenin.
Potemkin has also been reworked from 16 frames per second to 24 frames per second, and a soundtrack has been added.
The stories told by the staff on Eisenstein's films are always more interesting than the writings of the critics.
The assistant director of Potemkin wrote:
”Potemkin was initially unpopular with Soviet film experts, but when it was screened it was a great success everywhere.
In particular, the scene in which a red flag was raised, each frame colored by hand, excited audiences from all over the world.
Censorship in every country prevented the screening of Potemkin.
Potemkin was also banned in Mexico, but Mexican filmmakers screened it in bullrings instead of movie theaters. ”
