In the 1988 "Complete Works of Japanese Film and Television Directors'' (Kinema Junposha), film producer Kiichi Muto wrote about Harada as follows:

"Kagirinaki Rakuen(Limitless Paradise), released in 1981, is a story about high school students occupying a school and fighting against riot police. After this work, he began to create works that strongly reflected social and political aspects".
