In November 1992, one of the Midori staff members discovered that by pointing two jet fans in different directions, a vortex formed above the audience seats, causing confetti to fly like a real blizzard.

At MIDORI in 1994, CO2 was sprayed into the audience.

At MIDORI in 2000, slide images danced as they moved along the walls of the theater, some parts were converted into stereophonic sound, and the sound also rotated around the theater.

In 2004's ''Sea Trench Garden,'' three projectors mounted on turntables moved around the theater. Multiple tape recorders were placed under the audience seats, emitting low tones that sounded like an earthquake. Toilet paper was hung from the ceiling and swayed. Toilet paper was an effective method when preparation time or budget was short, and from this point on, it was widely used.
Sound and keyboard performances were synchronized in the venue to match the video. It was Shuji Terayama and J. A. Seazaer who invented the method of synchronizing live performances in this theater.

At the 2009 screening of ''Death Lullaby,'' a large cracker containing a small hydrogen cylinder was sprayed at the screen.
