MEMO
This was the first time we commissioned an external 8mm specialist company to perform telecine.
There are other companies that digitize 8mm, but Retro was the only company that accepted the film that had deteriorated and was damaged.
Although we haven't confirmed it retro, the vertically long light on the left may be light from the perforations of the 8mm film reflected inside the scanning machine.
There was also a way to cut off the top and bottom and upload it in 16:9, but this time We uploaded it in a size that allows you to see the frame of the scanning machine.
Sometimes material is visible outside the 8mm film projection frame. Also, the way the light leaks into the black frame of the scanning machine is beautiful. It's also interesting that the frame is curved, like the old Cinerama screens.
The scanning machine that Retro owns seems to be about 50 times the size of the small 8mm scanner that Harada owns.
You can see it the large machine in the linked short movie.

We don't want to interrupt the history of "film".
We hope that small companies like Retro will survive.
