In Kiryukan's works such as "MIDORI", there is an experiment called "interruption in the middle of the screening".
This is similar to Shuji Terayama's experiment in the old days, when he interrupted a play in the middle and made the theater pitch black.
This is an experience unique to a theater where darkness exists.
The French DVD "MIDORI" and the overseas film festival version "MIDORI" do not include this "interruption".
This is because this experiment would not work if the director wasn't there.
In recent movies, "Pastoral To Die In The Country (1974)" and "Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)" …These have happening scenes where the film is cut off in the middle.

In the 1960s, the electricity supplied to Japanese households was still unstable. Power outages often happened.

Power outages occurred during live TV shows, and the theater suddenly went dark. At that time, it was the children at the venue who were most delighted and excited.

Also, in the old days, radio waves were unstable, so TV broadcasts themselves were often interrupted.
